Notes for class
- Watch beside How color works, which gives the sources for every date in the film, and its web-safe palette section.
- The web-safe test is David Lehn and Hadley Stern's "Death of the Websafe Color Palette?", Webmonkey, 6 September 2000. The lake photographs come from the page's web-safe demo; the original is Lake Mountain Landscape by Bonnie Moreland, CC0.
- The Mac and PC comparison is a simulation: the same photograph with a gamma adjustment of 2.2 / 1.8.
- This video is sRGB, so its P3 colors are stand-ins, as the film says.
- The narration is a synthetic voice (ElevenLabs). Timing follows the narration track, so a recorded voice-over can replace it cue for cue using the transcript.
- With Reduce Motion turned on in the operating system, the film keeps its fades and drops the sliding motion.
- Set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next and Mono, typefaces the Braille Institute designed for readers with low vision.
